At Brookhaven Nephrology Associates, we passionately provide specialized, comprehensive and emphatic care for patients with kidney conditions. We have a team of dedicated, sincere and able professionals to care for all the needs of our patients.
Most of our doctors are board certified in Nephrology with long experience and we have a group of well-trained and friendly office staff to deliver the best care to each and every patient. While not all medical conditions are completely curable, our goal is always to keep our patients as healthy and functional as medically possible, with utmost respect and care.

Mohammed S. Rahman, M.D. joined Brookhaven Nephrology Associates in 2007. After the completion of undergraduate degree from Sylhet Government College, Bangladesh, Dr. Rahman received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from one of the most prestigious medical colleges in Bangladesh- Sylhet M.A.G Medical College, affiliate, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He finished his internship at Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College, Bangladesh and was trained by many renowned professors.
He completed his Internal Medicine residency training followed by fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Queens, Flushing, New York in 2007.
Along with other physicians in the practice Dr. Rahman is dedicated to take care of all types of kidney disease patients including Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Kidney Stones, End Stage Kidney disease requiring Hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, pre and post transplant care.
Dr. Rahman is always motivated and devoted to patient care and takes his profession very seriously. He is always available for his patient’s needs. Dr. Rahman is board certified by American Board of Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Hypertension. He is an active member of American Society of Nephrology and regularly attends many scientific meetings. Dr, Rahman is married and has a son and a daughter. He enjoys gardening, running, swimming and traveling in his off time.

Dean J Babich , M.D., FASN
Dean J Babich , M.D., FASN joined Brookhaven Nephrology Associates in 1997. Dr. Babich received his Bachelors of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Rijeka, School of Medicine, Rijeka, Croatia. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at Nassau University Medical Center, East Meadow, NY.
Dr. Babich is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Hypertension and is a fellow of American Society of Nephrology. He served President of Medical staff at Long Island Community Hospital 2009-2010; and currently he is the Chairman of the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Babich is married and has three sons. He enjoys running and biking. He has competed in several Ironman races at Lake Placid, NY to benefit Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Olena Bolotova, M.D.
Olena Bolotova M.D. joined Brookhaven Nephrology Associates in 2021.
She graduated from O. O. Bohomolets National University in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2012, and completed 2 years of Family Medicine Residency in Donetsk, Ukraine. She came to the United States 2014 and was initially working in Long Island, NY with one of the local physicians.
She completed Internal Medicine Residency in Bronx Care Health System in the Bronx, NY in 2019. She moved back to Long Island for fellowship in Nephrology in Stony Brook University Hospital, then she graduated in 2021.
During her fellowship training Dr. Bolotova participated in multiple research projects, including randomized controlled clinical trials, her projects focusing on AKI prognostification, and COVID19-related studies, resulting in several publications in peer-reviewed journals. However, she decided to focus her career on clinical care, and joined Brookhaven Nephrology Asscociates.
Dr Bolotova enjoys taking care of challenging cases in Nephrology, at the same time providing compassionate and detailed care for her patients.
In her free time Dr. Bolotova enjoys multiple activities such as a yoga, HIIT, swimming, and spending time on the beach. She also enjoys reading, and traveling.
